Our Students Share Their Gratitude
Flodia
Completed Gr 9
2022-2023
Flodia began attending IMR in 2016 at the age of 11 in Grade 3. She completed Grade 9 in June 2023.
Simeon has been her favourite teacher as he “explains well” the subjects he teaches. Flodia has plans to become a nurse and wants the school’s donors to know “she loves them all”.
Jhon Peter
Grade 8
2023-2024
Jhon Peter began his education at IMR at the age of 13, entering into Gr 2 in 2017.

Jhon Peter enjoys the breaks from class when he can joke and relax with his brother who also attends IMR. His favourite school meals are corn porridge and fried bananas.
​
Jhon Peter’s experience of a delayed start to school is common in Haiti. Yet, he aims to continue his studies to become an engineer.
We are so proud of our students like Jhon Peter who persevere in their studies, despite setbacks.
Madaphcar
Completed Grade 9
2022-2023
Madaphcar began attending IMR at the age of 16 in Grade 6. She completed Grade 9 in June 2023.
Her favourite part of school was working in class. She enjoyed the daily meals the school provides, in particular the rice, chicken, and fried banana and confirms that the school lunch program has really helped her family.
Madaphcar is thankful for all the support the school receives and plans to become a nurse to help her community.
Jouceline
Grade 7
2023-2024
Jouceline has attended IMR since 2019, entering the school in Grade 2.
She enjoys teacher Lexilien as she says “he makes me smart!”.
Her favourite meals at school are the rice and beans, and salad.
She plans to become a doctor and is thankful for the donors in Canada and the U.S. who are making this possible for her!
Jean Jacques
Completed Gr 8
2022-2023
Jean Jacques' favourite parts of the day are the morning Flag Ceremony and when working in class with his peers.
He says having the school lunch program makes him happy because the food helps him learn better. J
ean Jacques plans to study to become an engineer. He is thankful for the support for his studies.
Jolanda
Completed Grade 9
2023-2024
Jolanda’s and her two twin siblings have all attended our school. Darlene and Darlesse completed their Grade 9 year at IMR in 2021. ​
The best part of going to school for Jolanda was the learning and her favourite part of the school day was working in class.
Her favourite school meals were on special occasions like Easter and Christmas, when fried chicken is served; she says the daily meal she eats at school helps her family a lot.

She hopes to become a nurse and thanks everyone who supports the school so that she can realize this goal.
Naica
Grade 7
2023-2024
Naica began attending IMR in 2021 in Grade 4.
Her favourite part of the day is the Flag Ceremony each morning; and enjoys her music teacher.
She enjoys the rice and beans and salad for lunch at school.
She plans to become a nurse and is thankful for the support she and her friends have received to attend school.
Esterline Willien
Grade 8
2023-2024
Estherline has attended IMR since she was 10 years old in Grade 2.
She hopes to become a nurse and thanks everyone who supports the school!
