​Shelley has a passion for strengthening communities, helping them work towards their common goals and aspirations.  

 

She currently works with leaders and planners in health care and community development to coordinate strategic planning, develop strategies for applying information and knowledge to planning, apply evidence informed decision-making, and facilitate collective learning.

Underpinning this work is a dedication to engagement and the belief that individually, collectively and in partnership we can make a difference in lives of those we serve, locally and globally.


Shelley began her career in child and youth care counselling, volunteer management and community development.  With over 25 years experience in not-for profit, education and health care work, it has all focused improving the lives of the individuals, groups and communities she serves. Some of her work has included volunteer and program management, board governance, career and employment counselling, health care planning, information and knowledge strategy development. 


Shelley holds a Masters of Science degree in Information and Knowledge Strategy from Columbia University in New York, where her love of community development and knowledge sharing were fostered through a capstone project with the Rockefeller Foundation, supporting development of an Information and Knowledge Strategy to increase international knowledge sharing and collaboration between projects supported by the Foundation.  She Also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria where she focused on group development and facilitation and multi-system dynamics.  


Shelley lives in West Kelowna, British Columbia with her husband, daughter and West Highland Terrier, Colin.
